ibus-m17n software package provides m17n engine for IBus, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install ibus-m17n
ibus-m17n is installed in your system.
Make ensure the ibus-m17n package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep ibus-m17n *
You will get with ibus-m17n package name, version, architecture and description in a table
